Botticelli Reimagined (Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 5 March-3 July)
Botticelli Reimagined(ボッティチェリ再現)(ロンドン、ヴィクトリア&アルバート美術館(V&A)、3月5日-7月3日)

We British like to claim ownership over Botticelli, since it was largely thanks to John Ruskin and the Pre-Raphaelites that he was rediscovered after three centuries of neglect. The V&A takes its cue for this exhibition from the beautiful portrait of Smeralda Bandinelli bought for £20 from Christie’s in 1867 by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Through 50 original works, the show will trace the influence of Botticelli’s lyrical vision of feminine beauty on artists from Rossetti to Warhol and on dress designers from Elsa Schiaparelli to Dolce & Gabbana.
